Fall DIY Projects

Fall is definitely my favorite season for DIY projects! These five, Autumn-inspired DIY projects are the perfect way to welcome in this great time of year.

Crisp mornings, apple cider, and sweaters are just a few of my favorite things. I love autumn so much that my husband calls me the fall fanatic. Starting in early September our house smells of cinnamon and cloves and has a decor of leaves, pumpkins, and other signs of the season.

From homemade pumpkin waffles to pumpkin bread and pumpkin spice lattes, even our food screams fall. It should come as no surprise that I also tackle a lot of fall-themed DIY projects. Below I share 5 of my favorite fall-inspired DIY cleaning and beauty projects.

Fall DIY #1: Whipped Pumpkin Spice Body Butter

This delicious pumpkin spice body butter smells so good you could eat it! It combines nourishing mango and cocoa butter with pumpkin oil and essential oils to create a luxurious skin treatment. The subtle aroma of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg will scent your skin and leave it super soft.

I love to use this body butter nightly for a relaxing foot massage! It is also a wonderful item to gift to a fellow pumpkin spice lover.

Fall DIY #2: All-Purpose Cleaner for Fall

When I tell people that I clean my home with vinegar, the first response I get is: what about the smell?

Honestly, the smell of vinegar does not bother me, but I realize it can be strong for people who dislike the smell. Enter “infused vinegar.”

Infused vinegar is a great way to reduce the “vinegary” smell and add something different. This orange and clove all-purpose cleaner for fall combines two quintessential fall aromas for a beautiful smelling cleaner. I love to use mine in the kitchen and bathroom for everyday cleaning.

Fall DIY #3: DIY Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm

It seems like most people either love pumpkin spice or hate it. I am a BIG pumpkin spice fan, so I love to make DIYs that feature this lovely fall favorite.

This DIY pumpkin spice lip balm is an awesome way to carry fall with you. Right now I’m avoiding my favorite pumpkin spice beverages because I am counting calories, so I carry this lip balm for a special treat instead of stopping at the coffee shop.

Autumn DIY #4: Homemade Foot Soak and Hand Scrub

Now that boot season is here my feet need a little TLC at the end of the day. I love to relax with a homemade foot soak and Epsom salts are often my go-to.

I follow the recipe in this post, but I add cinnamon sticks and star anise to my foot bath instead of herbs. When the warm water is poured over the cinnamon sticks, they release such a wonderful aroma. It smells just like fall and soothes my tired feet.

Fall DIY #5: Four Air Freshener Recipes for Autumn

Every fall, I am bombarded with synthetic fragrance laden fall scents in candles, air fresheners, lotions, and more. I am pretty sensitive to aromas and most strong synthetic fragrances are overpowering for me, so having natural fall scents are the perfect solution.

This post features four recipes for fall scent air fresheners that are just perfect for this time of year. A simple simmering pot, fall potpourri, DIY cleaner, and spicy-sweet essential oil diffuser blend are included. Each one with its own twist on classic fall aromas.
