DIY Facial Carbonated Water

This simple DIY facial can be made in under a minute at home! The quick process gives fabulous results thanks to the secret ingredient: carbonated water!

From time to time I hear some unusual or weird beauty tips that sound, well, fake. So being curious, I try many of them. Some give mediocre results, some don’t work at all, but once in a while, I find a gem.

DIY Facial: A Simple Cleansing Facial

This super simple DIY facial can be done in under a minute at home! The quick process gives some pretty fabulous results, all thanks to the secret ingredient: carbonated water!

Benefits of This DIY Facial

Makeup, dirt, and other things can get trapped in your facial pores, which can lead to acne and other skin irritations. The bubbly action of carbonated water in this DIY facial helps cleanse pores.

Dipping your face directly in carbonated water can help to push out excess oils, dirt, and makeup, resulting in a much cleaner face.

DIY Facial: A Carbonated Water Facial

Step 1: Wash your face

Start with a clean face. Use a soapy facial cleanser, cleansing grains, or a cream make up remover. Don’t use a moisturizer, as that can interfere with the next step.

If you want, you can use an exfoliant, like an oatmeal scrub, before the next step.

Step 2: Pour the water

Find a non-corrosive, shallow bowl that is about 12-14 inches in diameter. Fill the bowl about halfway with cold, carbonated water. That’s all! It doesn’t need to be ice cold, just cool.

Step 3: Take a dip

Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Now, dunk your entire face in the carbonated water for about 10-15 seconds for an invigorating DIY facial.

Alternatively, you can soak a cotton pad with the water and apply this to your face. It may feel warm or tingly, but this is normal.

After your plunge, blot the excess water from your face. Apply a moisturizer if desired.

Repeat this simple DIY facial once or twice weekly. Using it more often could irritate skin.

Notes

You can also add a bit of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to the carbonated water for more skin benefits. Be sure not to get it into your eyes.

Have you tried a DIY facial lately? If so, how did it go?

I tried this, but I could not stand to dunk my whole face in the carbonated water, because it felt like the water was going up my nose. I guess it was because of the bubbles. That feeling kind of freaked me out–lol! So what I did was hold parts of my face in the bowl of water for several seconds at a time . . . my chin area, my face’s right side, then the left other side, etc. But I made sure not to get my nostrils under water–Lol!
